In my journey so far, if there is one thing that I’ve found difficult to deal with it is a closed mind. It’s strange how the world is progressing at such an astounding rate, and yet our minds are still living in the stone age. People still live with a mindset where they think that the resources aren’t enough for everyone; that they need to steal things from others to satisfy their own need.

It is hence essential that we give ourselves and the people we know a dose of mindset change. There are four steps to doing it.

Educate yourself

Formal education is crap. There, I said it. Now, what’s real knowledge? You get it from research and experiences. Devote time to learning.

The internet has wonderfully changed the world. We have more resources than we ever did before. Use the power of the internet to learn about things that challenge your thinking.

First acknowledge, then broaden your mind enough so that you can accept.

It is only after educating yourself that you can start making an effort towards changing your mindset.

Start thinking

What we do now think of is only the surface level. What we need to be doing is thinking a step further, asking why things are the way they are. The answers might sometimes be complicated which is why we need to educate ourselves well.

If you’re told something enough times, you start believing it.

That is what our conditioning does to us. Let’s take a vow to break free of that conditioning and understand the world with our own eyes.

Start Doing

“Action without thought is empty. Thought without action is blind” ― Kwame Nkrumah

We need to act upon our thoughts and not just let them be because ideas come and go, but actions remain.

As I mentioned before, we think that the resources are not enough for everyone. Upon thinking, we realize that it’s far from the truth. So instead of having a selfish mindset, act upon making it one of sharing and caring.

Start Being

When you do it enough number of times, you become it. And when you start being that’s when the world around you start seeing it and starts changing as well. It’s like a chain reaction.

The reason this chain reaction falls apart today is that people take action but that is only a one-time action, and they forget to be that person the next time.

Consistent, thought out action leads to a permanent mindset change.
